HairClone is delighted to welcome Dr Mari Carman Morales as our latest HairClone Clinical Partner! Dr Morales’ clinic, Centro MCM – Centro de Trasplante de Pelo y Dermatología, is based in the centre of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dr Morales is a dermatological surgeon with over 25 years of experience and will work alongside Dr Laura Conde to offer HairClone’s follicle banking service.
Dr Morales and her medical team have been providing hair transplants, dermatological treatments, facial rejuvenation, and laser hair removal for more than two decades. The team continually incorporates the latest innovations and regularly attends international conferences dedicated to advancing patient care and outcomes.
Dr Mari Carmen Morales is a full member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), which sets world-leading standards for medical practice, ethics and research in the field of hair restoration. She is also a diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), reflecting her commitment to the highest standards of clinical practice and the best possible results for her patients.
As a Clinical Partner location, Dr Morales is certified by HairClone to surgically extract hair follicle tissue for tissue banking and will be among the first clinics worldwide to gain access to HairClone’s autologous cell therapy once it becomes available. Banking hair follicles early allows younger cells to be stored in anticipation of cell therapies for hair loss, and other potential indications under development. Younger tissue retains greater cellular activity, and the banking process freezes its biological clock.
HairClone has begun injecting cells grown from banked follicle tissue to treat an early cohort of patients. Clinical Lead, Dr Marie Andrée Schambach, will be presenting preliminary results at the ISHRS conference in Rio de Jeneiro in October this year.
